Good Wooden Cutting Board Countertop

Dec 2nd

A good wooden cutting board countertop is essential in any kitchen. And that is precisely the theme that we propose, make a kitchen table with lath wood to which we will make a slot in which the liquids will be collected, which will facilitate its subsequent cleaning. The coto wood, which we are going to use to make this kitchen table, has a medium hardness, and is very suitable for the use that we are going to give it. We mark two 3 cm wide pieces on the slatted board with which we will make the top and bottom stops of the kitchen table.

With the jig saw provided with a cutting guide placed at 3 cm, which will allow us to make the cut straight and parallel to the line and wood blade, cut the two pieces. After cutting, we review the edges of the slats and the cutting board countertop with a sheet of sandpaper. Mark the position of the slats in the table, as well as three fixing points in each of them, 1.5 cm from the edges. We make the holes with the drill and a wood drill of the same diameter as the pipes and a drill stop placed at 1.5 cm depth.

Then, we put the markers in the holes we have made in the table. We present the ribbons on them and press. The points to be drilled will be marked. The next step will be to drill the holes at the points marked on the slats. We apply mounting adhesive to the holes in the upper part of the cutting board countertop, insert the pipes with a nylon hammer and fit the upper strip. We put some clamps until the adhesive hardens. Round off the corners of the front of the board with a rasp. Place a wooden template in the center of the board with strips of double-sided adhesive tape.
